As most of our blog followers know, the photo lab and online hosting company for our photos is Pictage. By using their service you are able to go to the website, look at images from your event, order online, share with your friends via email, edit the images (color, size, etc.) and be assured that you will receive a custom high quality print. And they guarantee their work. I’m very happy with the quality.
But what you don’t see is the community of photographers who use this service… some of the best in the world. The Pictage Forums is an online space dedicated to photographers helping photographers. We share everything from business ideas to concepts about photography and art. And we also get support from the company regarding orders, etc.
Once a year Pictage sponsors a conference where many of their clients get together to learn and share ideas. This year the conference was in New Orleans, LA and I can tell you it was a great experience for all of us. There were photographers there who had been in business for over 40 years as well as some just starting out. Photographers who shoot the stars, travel the world… you get the picture. But what we all have in common is that we love what we do and we love to share the passion for photography with others.
Here are a few of my favorite walk around shots from NOLA.
You can see more on our RIK Photography Facebook page if you’re interested. We’d love for you to become a fan of RIK Photography on facebook to get lots of updates.
On of the highlights of the week for me was a two hour shoot with David Beckstead who has been voted one of the top 10 wedding photographers in the world. Having the opportunity to work with and learn from these world class photographers is just an invaluable experience, and I feel so fortunate to be in a community who supports this type of continual learning. Here are some of my bridal shots…
Just for the record, we’re available for travel 😉
